Turlough O'Carolan 是誰
愛爾蘭作曲家和歌者，因其作曲天賦而聞名。
雖然卡羅蘭不是古典意義上的作曲家，但有些人認為他是愛爾蘭的民謠作曲家。卡羅蘭自己的一些作品顯示了古典音樂風格的影響，而其他作品，如《告別音樂》則反映了一種更古老的“蓋爾豎琴音樂風格”。
卡羅蘭於 1670 年出生於米斯郡諾伯，他的父親是那裡的鐵匠。 1684 年，應奧爾德福德莊園(Alderford House) 的麥克德莫特·羅伊(MacDermot Roe) 家族的邀請，從米斯搬到羅斯康芒郡的巴利法農(Ballyfarnon)。在羅斯康芒，他的父親在麥克德莫特·羅伊家族找到了一份工作。麥克德莫特·羅伊夫人對特洛Turlough O'Carolan 進行了教育，他在詩歌方面表現出了天賦。十八歲時，卡羅蘭因天花失明。二十一歲時，得到一匹馬和一名嚮導，他出發前往愛爾蘭旅行並為顧客創作歌曲。

特洛·奧卡羅蘭(Turlough O'Carolan) 於1738 年3 月25 日去世。他被埋葬在羅斯康芒郡巴利法農附近基爾羅南墓地的麥克德莫特·羅伊家族墓穴中。一年一度的奧卡羅蘭豎琴節和暑期學校為了紀念他在羅斯康芒郡凱杜的生活和工作。
1986 年8 月10 日，雕塑家奧辛·凱利(Oisin Kelly) 在莫希爾集市廣場的基座上豎立了一座青銅紀念碑，描繪了特洛·奧卡羅蘭(Turlough O'Carolan) 彈奏豎琴的情景，並由愛爾蘭總統帕特里克·希勒里(Patrick Hillery) 揭幕。
2002 年，在一年一度的奧卡羅蘭豎琴節期間，人們在他的出生地為他豎立了一座雕像，第一屆豎琴節於 1988 年在諾伯舉行。
卡羅蘭創作了歌曲和豎琴音樂，反映了多種作曲風格。卡羅蘭現存的音樂中約有三分之一與至今仍存在的愛爾蘭歌詞有關。這些歌詞對於今天的音樂家來說基本上是未知的，他們大部分都將卡羅蘭的曲目改編成當前流行的愛爾蘭吉格舞和捲軸音樂。
