中文說明	斯坦是一個樂觀機智的平凡人，他和妻子知足常樂，只是憂愁自己沒有的小孩。有一天他遇到一位智慧老人，老人許諾斯坦可以給他最想要的東西，於是當斯坦回到家的時候，他驚訝地發現家裏足足冒出二十二個孩子！為了養活這麼多孩子，斯坦只好外出闖蕩，想辦法掙錢。他遇到一條怪龍，用巧計讓怪龍以為他很有力氣，於是怪龍雇斯坦回家做三天幫工。怪龍的母親見斯坦身材瘦小，心中起疑，便出主意讓兒子試探他，因此在接下來的三天裏，斯坦以他的從容和機智與怪龍展開了一場鬥智鬥勇的較量。最後，笨頭笨腦的怪龍不僅出了很多洋相，而且完全被斯坦嚇壞了，乖乖拱手奉送他三倍的工錢——整整六十三袋金幣！這些錢足夠斯坦一家幸福地生活！圖作者羅奈爾得·赫甯克對華德福教育有深入的瞭解，他的繪本也深深受益于華德福教育的理念，在故事表現以及繪畫風格上都更適合孩子的特性。
